Port de Pollença is in the North of the island,
approximately 50 minutes drive from Palma airport. It has clean, safe beaches with clear,
gently deepening water. Saling and windsurfing hire and instruction are available. The
port town is small with everything you need in easy reach and walking distance of your
apartment. There are many shops and good restaurants to choose from, particularly along
the lovely Pine Walk, a promenade running around the bay that is perfect for an early
evening paseo. The climate is excellent with temperatures in the daytime varying between 40° at the height of Summer to 14° in January. |
The surrounding area offers much to see and do. Old Pollença town (10mins drive inland) with its bustling weekly market, typically Mallorcan town square and mouthwatering tapas bars; the stunning views from Cap de Formentor, the peaceful delight of Lluc monastery and the leather factories of Inca are all within easy reach. There are also extensive walks in the nearby hills. A little further afield are the beautiful hillside villages of Vallemosa, Soller and Deja, each with their own port. Car hire is available but not essential since local buses serve all areas, including to and from Palma. Why not take the narrow guage railway from Soller down through the hills right into the heart of Palma - and avoid the traffic.
